THE DURANTULA

Here is a still life drawing done with colored pencil. The theme of the piece is basketball and gym related objects. One of the best visuals here is the difference depicted between a translucent Gatorade bottle filled with the blue liquid and the transparency of an empty bottle. Other objects incorporated are a pair of Nike basketball shoes and common gym supplements and remedies. These are an interesting subject matter because of the detail within the labels. The still life sits upon a surface bearing a subtle wood grain and is back dropped by a draped Kevin Durant jersey from his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
